Hotels in Galway, Ennis? Also Car Rental Suggestions Wanted

Most of my reservations have been made, but an added day or two opened up time for a weekend in Galway. Anyone have a nice hotel to recommend? Should have parking.

I'll also need one for our last night in Ireland, at Ennis.

Budget: Under 300 Euros.

We will be renting a car in Dublin and returning it at Shannon (or maybe Ennis, to save check-in time the next AM), and then cab to the airport. Any thoughts?

Thanks for you help!

We stayed at the Glenomra House in Ennis. It was
a very nice B&B. On the advice from someone here
we went to Poet's Corner for dinner. Great food and we ended
up eating there twice. They also have the Old Ground Hotel that is connected to Poet's Corner. Have a great trip.

€300 gets just about any room in Ennis. We use Grey Gables guest house being closest to town Glenmora is another good option being slightly better placed for the road to SNN but a bit of a walk into Town. The Old Ground (with poets corner) is the key hotel but Temple Gate is also great in town and Ashford Court is another town option.

Jury's Galway is right by the "Latin Quarter" but possibly has the heavier pre wedding groups. Prague House B&B is on the Galway/Salthill border, Petra house on College Rd the Eyre Sq side of the city.

The Salthill Hotel is very nice aLthough you can't go wrong with a B&B like the Sea Breeze Lodge. But if you would like to stay in the city center, Eire square, then choose the Victoria Hotel or the Park House Hotel. While in Galway Do Not miss out on Connemara.

Thanks for the recommendations -- I'll look them up.

Any suggestions for a reliable car rental agency?

We have used a few different car rental agencies. We have had good luck with Dan Dooley and prefer them over the others.

on four visits we always used Dan Dooley..never had a problem.

IF the Great Southern is still open (by that name) it's old world luxury situated on small Eyre Park in midtown. Their high teas are classic. Have no idea what today's rates are...we've also stayed in Salt Hill district but I don't recall the B and B names. Very nice residential area, Galway Bay a short walk from anywhere in Salt Hill.

Enjoy Ireland..me fave'rit country! Why? One word...
