Anyone familiar with this hotel? It looks great and we looking for something further out. Can't rent an apartment as our stay is midweek to midweek.

Well, many people would consider it a long way from the usual tourist sites, but the neighborhood is interesting in itself if the street is not too busy. The Avenue General LeClerc is a busy thorofare with lots of shopping and good bus and Metro connections to the city. In the other direcction is the Parc Montsouris and the Cite Universitaire, about which Kerouac had a wonderful photo feature several years ago.

But I haven't stayed there.

I've nothing against the hotel (haven't stayed there) but if your preference is for an apartment, you probably can find one that will let you rent mid-week-to-mid-week. For instance, this apartment rents for 3 nights, or 5 nights, or 7 nights. So obviously the owner is willing to have some people arrive mid-week and leave mid-week.

I'm just giving you that apartment as an axample. (I've never stayed there or worked with that agency). But if you do google searches for "nightly rate Paris vacation apartment" you will find apartments that don't require a full-week stay, and you can negotiate a rate for a full week's stay.

It can be much nicer to have an apartment than just a hotel room if you are staying a whole week. It is nice to have a kitchen, a washing machine and a bit more elbow room.

I noticed that place has a loft bed and no air-con, which might not work for you, but this is nice place and I think it rents by the night and its cheap. No washing machine, but air con and a balcony.

Anyway, just showing you that mid-week apts can be found.

I know the area fairly well (we stay closer to the Denfert Roch. end)... The street the hotel is on should be decently quiet - ave Gen Leclerc is along the other side of the 'block'. Plenty of cafes, shops, bus and metro for convenience...Note that the bus depot (terminal) is a few buildings over from the hotel, not sure if that creates any bothersome street noise.
I guess you've read reviews on Tripadvisor and Booking .com

If you're not sure about Virgina, look at BW Hotel Nouvel Orleans, or across the 14th arr at Hotel Apollon:

I don't know anything about that hotel, but here are a couple of alternatives in the 14th that we have stayed at.

There is a Best Western Bretagne near the Pernety metro station. It has been 10 years since we stayed there, so you would need to check current reviews, but we did like the location. We have been back near it, so can still comment on that It is about 2 blocks from that metro station and it was our first visit to Paris and our kids were pretty young at the time. We never felt like it was an inconvenience or difficult to get to all the sights, etc. The staff at the time were extremely helpful and very nice.

An apartment in the 14th that we stayed at this past summer was through Paris Best Lodge. It was La Coupole, which was right around the corner from the Vavin metro station. The apt was perfect for us and I loved the location! We will absolutely rent that one again!

There was also the Lenox Montparnasse hotel on the same street that gets lots of positive comments on this board, but I haven't stayed there so can't personally comment. It did look very nice from the outside and it was a block or so from our apt, so we saw it at all times of the day and would have no issue at all with staying there.

Well you've all given me pause! Last year we rented an apartment Sat-Sat and I assumed that was how they all operated. So I'll be checking into that and thank you for your suggestions and responses.

Try the reviews from Venere.

http://www.venere.com/france/paris/

Check the reviews, photos and map.

It is a bit out of the way, but priced pretty well, considering.

Sort venere by price you want to pay, and find the location that's best for you and has good reviews.

Bon chance!

Yes --definitely look for an apartment. Many country properties do rent either Fri>Fri, or Sat>Sat. But few if any Paris apartments have those sorts of limitations.
