first time in Venice and who knows maybe the last - so I'd like to find a gem of a place...for about 350,000 lire a night. Any suggestions please? <BR>

Magi, <BR>Please try Locanda Sturion. The only down side to this place is no elevator, but a gorgeous marble staircase. Wonderful view, helpful staff, & an overall great value. Conveniently located near the Ponte Rialto. Ask for a room with a view of the Grand Canal when you book. <BR>Enjoy & Buon Viaggio, <BR>BC

Thanks for the suggestion - I will definitely try to book a room. Venice is beginning to sound awesome and I can't wait to wander around and breathe it all in.

You may also want to try the Locando Leon Bianco. Small, family-run and on the Grand Canal. You can do a search on this forum for other suggestions or for this particular hotel and read many recommendations. Have fun!

Vaporetto stops are located <BR>in front of the station and you are <BR>also within aboiut 15 mins walk to <BR>the Ponte Rialto and another 10 to the Pza S.
