Hotel Schwangauer Hof?

Has anybody ever stayed here? It is listed as being close to the Neuschwanstein Castles. Is it? Any comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Have not been there. Do you want any other suggestions for being close to the Castle?
Gusthof Zum Schluxen is located in Reutte, Austria - about a 15 min drive if I remember correclty. We loved it. It is located in a rural area. Great food, freindly, cost is reasonable... The Inn has a rich history, and is so cute. I woke to the sound of cow bells in the morning!!

I am considering the same hotel, but have been unable to find out much about it. Please keep me posted, and I will do the same.

I'm not familiar with that particular hotel, but if you want to be within easy walking distance of the castle trails and the ticket center, stay in the village of Hohenschwangau, not Schwangau.

Here's where we stayed and enjoyed it very much:

Reasonably priced, free parking, breakfast included.

I stayed there in 2002. It was a nice clean hotel and the food was very nice. It is definitely not a short walk to Neuschwanstein. If you look on the website my room was directly behind the middle umbrella. http://www.hohenschwangau.de/schwangauerhof.0.html
At night there is a view of Neuschwanstein, beautifully lit up.
It looked out onto a terrace and a nice little garden.
