Hotel Santa Chiara vs Hotel due Torri Rome

Debating between these hotels. Looking for nice but affordable (around $300 a night). Love the Pantheon/Piazza Navona area. Sorry to say, we have been spoiled by staying at Hotel Grand Minerva in the area in the past, but they are a bit out of our pocketbook due to needing a couple of rooms this time. Would appreciate any advice or recommendations.

Neither can compare to the Minerva.

The rooms at the Santa Chiara are a bit more spacious. It's very clean, but the decoration says "renovated monastery." I prefer this location, but can barely tolerate the decor.

The rooms are more decorator charming at the Due Torri, but so many rooms are super tiny. For someone like me, I really need a specific room number to enjoy a place like Due Torri.

Had a top floor room at the Due Torri. The room was smallish, but not too tiny, and it had a small balcony shared with a room or rooms on the top floor. It wasn't bad.

I do like the Hotel Portoghese, just a little closer to Pz. Navona than the Due Torri. Again, rooms are smallish, but the decor is nicer than what we had at the Due Torri.

I know that you didn't ask for another option, but the P. is my favorite in the area.

Thank you for the recommendation. The P was my third hotel choice, however, the travel agent I am working with shared that it is not on any agent sites so she was unable to recommend without any reviews

Just check here. Plus, if it's not on any agent sites, she may not want to book. I would pick it based on a few points:

1. Location- all three are close, but the approach to the Portoghese is by far the nicest. Very pleasant surroundings.

2. Nice breakfast

3. Rooms are small but updated
