Hotel right near Barcelona airport for one night?
We'll be flying from to Rome to Barcelona to catch our flight back to NYC on August 30th and need a place to stay just for the night right near the airport. Any suggestions?
Many thanks in advance.

<The ride from Barcelona center city is only 30-45 min or less by car or taxi.>
Much less. Barcelona city center is only some 7-8 miles and 15 mins drive from the airport (about 25€).
But if you want to stay even closer to the airport there are several options (with guest reviews)

Ciutat del Prat: http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/ciut...rat.en-gb.html
Tryp Aeropuerto: http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/solm...ero.en-gb.html

Would for example be ten min and 20€ with a taxi from the airport to Ofelias Hotel just off Plaça d'Espanya. Then you would have some of Barcelona's finest tapas bars and restaurants almost on your doorstep: http://www.booking.com/hotel/es/ofel...ior.en-gb.html
Tickets (very fun, affordable and ranked #42 restaurant in the world) Had a fabulous 13 course lunch here a couple of months ago with some beers for 70€ pp. http://www.barcelonabook.com/tickets...estaurant.html

I wouldn't say it is much less than that, it did take me about a half hour by taxi from the airport to the Eixample area. And the airport bus is definitely not less time than that, of course, due to stops and passenger loading. It's about 15 km to placa Espanya from the airport which is closer than placa Catalunya, though, closer to 10 miles.
placa Espanya would be a good compromise between airport and city center, and it does actually have an aerobus bus stop. And several hotels there plus metro stop.
