Hotel recommendation for one night in Orvieto?

Jump to last reply

We are going to be getting up in Florence and doing an all-day tour with Luca Garrapa. We were going to have him drop us at the train station in Orvieto so we could go on to Rome that night.

But then I got to thinking that we were going to be arriving Rome maybe as late as 9pm and most apartment (I'll be renting one in Rome) agencies/owners charge big bucks for meeting you that late.

So, then I started thinking, "well, then we'll spend the first night in a hotel in Rome. This will make things a lot easier. We'll be really wiped out and not want to mess with learning apartment ropes, etc. that late at night."

Then, I got my second wind. :) We have not been to Orvieto. All I read states that it is a great "day trip" from Rome. So, I'm thinking the better option is to have Luca drop us at our hotel in Orvieto. Then, we can check in around 8pm, get a good nights' sleep and explore Orvieto for a few hours before heading to our Rome apartment. :)

Now, I just need the name of a good (inexpensive) hotel in Orvieto for the night. One close to the train station would be great. Then we can leave our luggage at hotel and pick it up just before heading to the train.

Thanks, all!
