Kel, I would suggest doing a search on this forum for Prague Hotels. I know, in the past, that exat question has been asked with many helpful responses. If you haven't been before, get ready for the most beautiful city in the world!

We stayed at Pension Balbin on Balbinova. It is near the Muzeum Metro & Wenceslas Square & about a 5-10 minute walk to just about anywhere. We paid $35/night for 2 two years ago in November. I understand it has been $85 during high season. It is clean, has shower & toilet in room, helpful English-speaking staff & good serve-yourself breakfast. We made the reservation through AVE Accommodations at www.avetravel.cz They have a good list of hotels/penzions in all price ranges with descriptions & some pictures.

Try the Cloister Inn. It has a website with prices, which are discounted now. the website is cloister-inn, with a hyphen. It is located in Old Town and goes for around $80 a night probably, including breakfast buffet. One free night for a several night stay.

Kel, I agree with Karen on the Cloister Inn. We were there from November 13-20 and all four of were very pleased.

They are inexpensive, have a good breakfast and a helpful staff that speaks English pretty well. The location was excellent. They are right on Konviktska, a few blocks from the Charles Bridge and within walking distance of Old Town Square and other sights.

The Stoleti restaurant just down the street has good food and good prices.

Good luck.

The hotel Europa in Wenceslas Sq is fun. It is possibly Pragues most famous hotel, but is just 1 star - so pretty basic accommodation. The common areas are very grand and the bar/restaurant are a must see, whether you stay there or not. Sadly, hotels in Prague are pricey, b
