I am returning to the states from the Milan Malpens Airport after ending my Italian tour with a couple of days in Venice. My husband and I would like to stay at a hotel near the airport the night before to make the morning trip to the airport easy. Can you suggest a hotel near the Malpensa Airport? Currently, I have reservations at a hotel 50 kilometers away which is making my husband crazy. <BR> <BR>Nancy

We are also returning to the U.S. from Malpensa and have reservations at the Hotel Villa Malpensa. It looks nice on their website and is advertised as only 500 meters from the airport with a free shuttle available. It has been recommended by a number of people on this forum. I agree with your husband -we have a few horror stories on staying too far from the airport the last night and trying to arrive on time the next morning. Things like roads closed due to oil spills, not being able to find the rental car agency at the airport to turn the car in, etc, etc.

Villa Malpensa is quite a nice place and you would enjoy it. If you just want a place to sleep close to the airport look into the Jet Hotel--it's used by a lot of airlines and is something like 10 km. from the airport. Another is Hotel Cervo. The town is Gallarate--not much to see, but 10 min. from Malpensa and will make your husband rest easier.

Spent one nite at Hotel Cervo three weeks ago - same situation as you. We were pleasantly surprised. It's very reasonable, exceptionally clean and a stone's throw from the airport. They even throw in a little continental breakfast in the morning.
