Hotel Muguet in Paris ...

I am thinking of booking the Hotel Muguet for New Years - would you recommend this hotel? Thank you!

I'll let you know November 1st. I'm staying at Hotel Muguet 26-31 October. I made the reservations via e-mail based on recommendations from Fodors posters. I confirmed via e-mail a couple of weeks ago. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well and that the rooms are as nice as everyone says!

We stayed there in July and loved it. Small, quiet. We could see the top third of the Eiffel Tower from our 5th floor room. The hotel is close to rue Cler, a great market street for wandering and munching.

Bon voyage and bon appetit

Lona
the Muguet has been recommended many times on this forum. If you do a search here by that name you will find many postings. Also look for comments from past hotel guests at
www.paris.org

We've stayed there twice, most recently in September and loved it. Very close to the metro, quiet neighborhood. We walked to the Champs Elysses in about 15 minutes or so, which might be a good idea if you're planning on going there for midnight on New Year's Eve. The metro going there was packed, people hanging out of windows, and we almost missed midnight.

We opted for the more expensive double room (600FF) the second time, it was much bigger than the first room we stayed in.

One more thumbs up for the Hotel Muguet. I was just there in August. It is very close to a laundromat, a postoffice where you can change travellers checks, plenty of ATM's, a great Chinese restaurant, etc. The room was very comfortable but had a strange shower door that only went 1/2 way across the tub. The only other thing that also was minor was that the Ecole Militaire metro stop isn't really directly on the line for anything else, so you have to transfer a lot. No big deal except at night when some of those transfers are down long lonely hallways. But I would stay again at the Muguet in a minute. The owner has two poodles, Franbois and Madeleine. Give them a package of cheese for me.
