Hotel Langlois or Hotel Valadon in Paris?

I can not decide between the Hotel Valadon or the Hotel Langlois. Both have positive reviews. I like the older European flavor of the Langlois, but the Valadon near the eifel tour seems to be a better location. Any help would be appreciated.

We liked the traditional feel of the Langlois very much. I always have thought that, given the ease of Metro use, hotel location near tourist sites is very much overrated. Visit those places, but get the feel of a Paris neighborhood by staying somewhere else in the city.

I agree w/SemiMike; w/the metro & 2 cafes 1/2 block away, plus restaurants in the area, post office down the street I was content along w/the friendly staff
who rose to the occasion when a large family's grandfather had an
accident plus the antique elevator
is a hoot! (And front desk only had to call me once to 'close' the door.)
I was also offered & rec'd coffee since I arrived too early for check-in, rec'd an important e-mail &
travel advice when asked.

I think the Langlois' location is more interesting and less touristy. I would choose the 9th over the 7th as a place to stay.

In fact, this is exactly what I did last month for my upcoming trip. I could choose between going back to the excellent Hotel de France in the 7th or trying Hotel France Albion in the Saint Georges neighbourhood (about 500 metres from the Langlois). I ended up choosing the France Albion, I just love that bit of the 9th.
Last May I had a very good lunch at the Italian restaurant Bocca di Rosa, 46 bis Rue de Clichy.

Thank you for your advice. It is settled (unanimously) the Langlois it is!
