Hotel in Sorrento with sea view and close to town
Going to Sorrento for 5 nights at the end of May. Can someone recommend a good hotel to stay at with a great seaview, and not very far from town?? Our budget is around $250 per night.

The Hotel Tramontano is very close to the main piazza, has fantastic Bay and Vesuvius views, but you'd probably have to book a garden view room to stay on budget.

Tramontano is a great choice, and if you can get one of their special offers in May then you might snag a sea room.
If not, you could also try Hotel Bristol, which is about a 15min walk from Piazza Tasso (centre of town), and has great sea-view rooms usually on special before Summer kicks in. www.bristolsorrento.com
Or Hotel Minerva – located on the south side of Sorrento, on via Capo just as it leaves Corso Italia and via degli Aranci so a 10min walk to centre, has been refurbished as is over 100 years old, ask for a balcony room. www.minervasorrento.com
Or Grand Hotel Royal – stayed here many years ago, a good location in a glam hotel, about 10mins walk from main part of town, great views and rooms with sea views so ask for rates on one of these. www.royalsorrento.com
Or Hotel Eden – nice hotel, quite central, stayed here a few years ago for 4 nights, a good price and location but not sure if they have sea views you're looking for - they have rooms with sea views, but not super spectacular, and balconies are small. www.hoteledensorrento.com/en/index.htm

From arrival May 27th to departure June 1st, the Tramontano is offering a "Classic Double" for 230 euros and a "Garden View Double" for 250 euros. The same rates apply for the five days before and after these dates. Seaview doubles start at 320 euros.
