Hotel in Paris - suggestions? (hotel caron de beaumarchais)

Hi there -

My husband and I (late 20's) are planning to visit Paris from July 4 - 8 this year. We are looking for accommodations and are a bit overwhelmed.

We are seeking a central location, with the ability to walk to most sites. We also want to be located in an area where lots of great eateries are just outside our doorstep.

So far, it seems Le Marais and Saint-Germain-des-Pres are good areas for the Parisian atmophshere we are looking for. Any reason we should choose one area over the other?

We would like a hotel with good character/charm, wifi, a shower, and either a balcony or window that opens up to take in the city atmosphere.

Our budget is $250/night or under.

So far, we are leaning towards Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais in Le Marais, but would be open to other suggestions, or areas. Any opinion on this hotel in particular?

the best place to go is Booking.com
You can drill down location, budget (even in your currency ) Look at locations and book straight away.
If you put a lot in to reading reviews/recommendations of complete strangers then they have a great review system too.

Try Relais Medicis. Just on Jardins du Luxembourg. My best hotel in the area in 2016.

You will never be far away from a Metro station unless you stay in the 7th, 15th, 16th, and 17th arrondissements, where there are long stretches without any stations.

I'd recommend staying in the 11th or 12th arrondissements, if you want "good food right outside your doorstep". The Marais has become a tourist trap where food is concerned, so you might well be disappointed.

Second to that, I'd recommend staying around Metro Odeon, where there is an abundance of good food, patisseries, markets, etc.

www.booking.com is the go-to for all hotels, as far as I'm concerned.
Just check the address using GoogleMaps Street View to be sure that you're comfortable with the neighborhood.
