hotel in paris
We made a reservation at Hotel henri iv hotel on rue des bernardins after hearing rave reviews on this website in Feb. Just realized that there are 3 or 4 Henri iv hotels and probably people were referring to Hotel Henri iv rive gauche which is full in Sept. Has anyone stayed in Residence Henri iv rue des Bernardins ? Any recomendations for a nice hotel in that area (5th) near sorbonne.

If you're looking for a hotel with the "perfect" view look at this place

We had the top room on the corner and every morning we got to see the Eiffel Tower, well we could see it all day and night too. LOVE THIS HOTEL!

I think the OP is looking for a hotel that's located in the Latin Quarter although the Duquesne is pretty.
nsalerno, there are recent comments posted about the Hotel Residence Henri IV at Trip Advisor:

TonyMnLA - I was so glad to read about the hotel you stayed in - I'll be going there in 2 weeks and requested a room where I can see the Eiffel Tower from the bed! I hadn't seen much on the Forum about this hotel, so I'm now so much more excited about it!!! I can't wait to wake up and see it or lie in bed at night and watching it twinkle! Was the rest of the hotel nice? It's a bit of a splurge for me after 3 weeks on Europe. Merci!

I don't know about rave reviews, but I think people most often have talked about the Rive Gauche one. The one on Bernardins isn't that near the Sorbonne, anyway.
The Sorbonne is a decent budget hotel in that area, the only one I've stayed at right near the Sorbonne. It is probably below the level you are seeking, however. If I wanted to stay right near the Sorbonne (which has a bunch of scaffolding and net over it right now), I'd check the Hotel Pantheon or sister property Hotel des Grands Hommes, probably. The Hotel Select is another possibility, or if you are considering near the Seine to be near the Sorbonne, I think a lot of people like the Parc St Severin, or the Hotel St. Jacques for another budget hotel.

Thanks for all the replies. I did repost with the name of the hotel-thanks for the suggestion. I have checked and lots of hotels are of course full in Sept. I will see what I receive from this site. It has very helpful in the past.
