hotel in Mittenwald

Please assist in recommending a hotel in Mittenwald for 3 nights in September. Preferably a Double with shower. Two that look appealing right now are:

Gastehaus Franziaka (74 euro/night)
Hotel Rieger (90 euro/night)

Any reviews on either of these hotels ?

Thanks,

GreekGazoo

Hi Greekgazoo,

I'd stay at the Alpenrose, right in the pedestrian center.

Last time I was in Mittenwald I promised myself I'd stay at the Hotel Rieger on my next trip. Haven't stayed there yet, but it certainly looked nice at the time. As I recall, the Rieger was only a short walk from the train station.

As mentioned by swandav, the Alpenrose is in a great location - we had several good meals in their restaurant.

We stayed at The Post Hotel in May and we loved it. We had nice balconey with a view of the mtn. The staff were very helpful. We only got to stay 1 night, wished we could have stayed longer. They also have parking. Very highly recommend this hotel. Read other reviews on Trip Advisor.

We stayed at the AlpenRose and I seem to remember it being a little more expensive than that but we really enjoyed it. It is a nice gasthaus with a good restaurant and cozy but kind of creaky rooms upstairs. It is truly in the middle of town an convenient to wandering the village.
