Hotel in Marbella

We are deciding between The Marbella Club and The Puente Romano. Does anyone have any information to share about either of these hotels? How does one have to dress in the evenings? We are going in a couple weeks.

We checked out both a couple of years ago. Both are great resorts, but the Puente Romano would be my first chioce.

If you are going to a decent restaurant, then plan on dressing up, at least a little. And no shorts!

In either place dress at restaurants, clubs etc is sophisticated. It can be more casual sophisticated or it may be cocktail type dress. Men need at least a blazer - some places a suit would be expected. Women nice silk pants or skirt outfit - or a pretty going out to dinner dress. (But not formal - not tux or gowns needed.)

I know the last time I was there the casino required men to have a jacket and women equivalent to enter the inner rooms (everything except machines). But not so much like the Monte Carlo casino - where guests look like the cast of a James Bond movie - major bling.

Thanks, Robert. What makes you select the Puente Romano over the Marbella Club? I am really on the fence and cannot get enough information from their websites to make an informed decision.

We liked the presentation and manner of the staff when we dropped by to check out the hotel and it's facilities. They were impressive and showed a little more class then what we expected. Personally makes a lot of difference, but you have to remember that it has been a couple of years and things can change, but the management still seems fairly straight foreword.
