Hotel in 6th Arr. <125 euro
Hi,
We're looking for a hotel in the 6th Arr. that is (1) Charming/Nice, (2) centrally located, and (3) <125 euros. A tall order, I know, but there must be something out there. Any suggestions? Thanks!

One of my girlfriends stayed this past September at the Hotel Bersoly's Saint Germain on 28 Rue de Lille. It's in your price range. She said it's a good old plain Jane kind of hotel with a fantastic location and a friendly, helpful staff (clean also). Tripadvisor gives it generally favorable reviews.

I haven't stayed at the Grand Hotel des Balcons in the 6e, see www.balcons.com, but walked by it: charming and on a quiet street. We were quoted E100 per night for a twin room. We ended up staying at the Hotel Saint-Jacques in the 5e, but next time I'd like to give the Balcons a try.

My favorite is Hotel du Lys; lots of charm, wonderful location, and only 110 for double, inc. continental breakfast. Bldg dates from 17th century, including a winding staircase (no elevator, if that's problem) that lends much character to the place. It's on a quiet street, yet only two minutes from lots of activity; either St. Michel or Odeon metro stops, both 3 min. away. In-room safe, cable tv, phone, pvt. bath.

The Hotel Résidence Montparnasse is totally centrally located and under 125 euros....I found it nice...!!!Look at this hotel on www.residence-montparnasse.com...You will see if it is OK for you too!!!

Nothing fancy, nothing special but great location. If you want a very western hotel, this is not it. Small bathrooms and rooms, but I will stay there again and again. Goolge it.....

Once again I recommend des Grandes Ecoles. It is in the 5th but certainly close to everything and the 6th. Ask for a room in the garden or other building. Some posters have criticized the main building.

We have stayed in Hotel du Dragon, on rue du Dragon back in 2002. I believe the rate was 90 Euro at the time.
The hotel came recommended by the regulars on bonjourparis.com. It was very well located, fairly quiet, basic but pleasant and the staff was nice to us (we didn't require much assistance, though).

Just on the edge of the 6th (technically in the 5th I believe) is the charming little hotel on a quiet side street. Right across from the Luxembourge Gardens, and on a metro stop, but within easy walk of all sights -- the price should be in your range. We've stayed here several times and love it.
