We're driving up to Caen on 6 November to take a 7 nov. ferry across to Portsmouth. We want to break the trip in or near Tours. Looking for a hotel or B&B around 120€ for a double, no more than 30 mins or so off the A10.
La Milaudière was recommended on here; they will be closed. Le Clos d'Amboise is coming in a little high at 180€ plus 12€ pp breakfast. I've emailed them back to see if any of their standard doubles are available.
A few places which look lovely for touring the Loire don't have television and we both want to get up early on the 7th to see some of the US election returns. Slight wrinkle and I don't expect anyone on here to research that for me. Would just like to hear about places you liked, I will check on television access.
Thanks so much.

With the caveats that it's been quite a few years since I was there, and I believe it's under new management since then, this was always my favorite place to stay in the Loire. Might be too far to the east, though, given what I assume is your route. Mappy says it's 28 minutes from Tours. Price seems to be under your budget, and they have television:

Thanks, StCirq, I've emailed them. Looks very nice and budget-friendly.
Quick update for StCirq, didn't hear back from Cheval Blanc so rang them up. Hotel is on annual closure and is changing management.
I got the Clos down to 150€ so will stay there this trip.
Thanks again.
Interesting, Cath. Changing management again might not be such a good thing. Glad you got yourself settled, though. Enjoy!
