Hotel by Airport in Rome

Has anyone stayed by the airport in Rome for a 4 day trip (courtyard rome central park)? I am thinking about staying there so I can be close to the airport on the last day when I have to catch a plane to Nice at 7 AM. I would also get 2 rooms.
Is it far from the activities and is there transportation to the center of Rome?

Thanks,
Glenda

From what I can tell, the Courtyard Rome Central Park is not anywhere near the airport. It is on the hills overlooking Rome, with no special convenience to reaching the airport than if you stayed in central Rome.

If the hotel you are referring to is at Via Giuseppe Moscati, 7, it is neither near the airport, nor any closer to the airport than the city center hotels, and you are inconveniently located from the attractions -- for four days!!!

The difference between staying at a real FCO hotel vs. city center hotel is about 40 min earlier in waking up on the last day if you stayed in the center. Do you feel it is a decent trade off to be inconvenienced for four days, added cost of transport and numerous time spent communing to the city center, just to save about 40 min on the last day? I have stayed in central Rome and flown out of FCO around 6:30am many times. I just needed to request the hotel front desk to have a taxi ready to take me to the airport on time.

Also, Rome is one of the cities that look lovely at night with flood lit fountains and monuments. In summer, that is after 9pm. Walking around the city late might be foreign to those from places where you dare not walk on foot at night. Once you walked around center Rome around 10pm, you can't imagine not doing it every night.

This link is a couple of years old, but has good descriptions of the airport hotels.

You did not specify which airport.
