Hotel Babuino 181, Rome...Italy

Hello,

as anyone stayed in hotel Babuino 181,in Via Babuino Rome Italy.

I read some fairly good reports, but what puzzles me, as some websites only give it 2 stars, while others do not rate it, but yet it's described as luxury... Can anyone shed some light of which one is it...is budget or is it luxury?

Many thanks,

Cookie: the star system for Italy isn't an indication of luxury. Rather, hotels earn stars according to the facilities available. Things like an elevator, in house kitchen, 24 hour reception and other things. Here's an article I found that explains it:

Backing up, looking at the hotel, I can't understand the star rating.

Why not write to them? The reviews, pictures and location all look good.

We jist stayed at the sister property Mario de Fiori about one block down. Babuino offers breakfast and I believe a bar, whereas we had to go to Babuino to enjoy those things. We never made time for that. The location we thought was quote good. We walked to everything with the exception of the Vatican although I'm sure we could have. We found the property we stayed in to be very nice, modern, clean great bathroom.there was some attention to detail that was amiss. For instance , we there to celenrate our 20 th wedding anniversary, but our welcome card congratulated us on our honeymoon, teehee. We did feel a bit lile newlyweds. In my opinion, the property is neither luxury or budget as it ran us over $400 american a night, but as mentioned was missing in some of the deatails we have come to expect from boutique hotels. Having said that, we would still consider it as a an option on other trips.
