Friends have asked me to inquire if anyone can recommend a hotel in the Glyfada area as they will be attending a wedding. Moderate
to expensive is ok. Also it's been so long since I've been there, I can't recall--how much transportation time to allow between
Glyfada and Athens central (Syntagma Sq), probably by taxi.
Hotel: Athens,Glyfada

I wont be much help with this question.
What I know of Glyfada is it is near the airport so I guess an airport hotel will be near. Cuz what I have seen of Glyfada is it is a residential area with lots of great shopping. Depending on traffic it could be 30-45 from Glyfada to Syntagma SQ. Why dont you ask the people who invited you to the wedding to recommend a hotel.
We honeymooned in Greece this summer and stayed at the Best Western Fenix in Glyfada. It was a nice hotel for the area and had a balcony with a view of the Aegean Sea and a continental breakfast. It was about $55 US dollars in late June. We took a taxi to Syntagma Square in the late evening and it took about 35 minutes. Just off Syntagma Square, we stayed at the Best Western Esperia Palace which was about $75 US dollars and included a full breakfast and a balcony view of the Acropolis. Check out the Best Western Hotels website for more information on these hotels. Just don't stay at American hotels--they are way overpriced!
