Honeymoon in Southern Europe
We are planning our honeymoon to Europe in March 2014. We have two options in terms of dates: 4-16th March or 19th March-3/4 April
We want to do a mix of commercial cities/beaches/serene countryside (have to be romantic, needless to add!!). However, we are confused with cities/countries to pick due to the weather. We do NOT want extreme chilly weather (anything below 5-7 degree celsius). What would you people recommend...we had Paris, Rome, Venice on our mind broadly for bigger cities....and Naples, Tuscany, Amalfi, Nice...in others. Would you recommend any other places...for a honeymoon trip (not v cold)?

Th eonly place to be sure of beach weather at that time of year is southern Spainrom - as long as you stay away fthe mountains. In southern France or Italy it might well be too cold for the beach/swimming and hotels won;t have pools open then (on the Amalfi coast they start using them in mid May).
March is still winter and there is guarantee of wether in Paris Rome or Venice - not is ther any guarantee of temps even in early April, esp at night. The countries you are talking about are temperate - not semi-tropical.

I would choose your later option. You'll have nicer weather. I spent 1 week at the end of March in Nice. Weather was just right for walking. I brought clothing for layering, and just needed jacket for walking. One or two days, we just needed sweaters.
Spent a week in Rome in early April, once. Weather again, was just right for sightseeing.
Naples will have the museums, etc, and you can head further south to Sorrento, and take in Capri, Pompeii and Herculaneum and Vesuvius? Amalfi Coast, too. This should offer the warmest weather option, given your parameters.
FYI..Venice is small, and I think you'd have a higher chance of rainy, dreary weather at that time of year. (Although...your dates are pretty close together) Romantic though!!

It appears you have 13 days if you include the 4th and 16th or 16 days if you include the 19th and 3rd of April. Not the same amount of time for starters.
If you deduct your arrival and departure days from the first time period that leaves 11 days to be IN places. That's enough for 2 places or 3 if you push it. The second time span would be better since it gives you more days but I still wouldn't plan on more than 3 places.
The weather in March/April is simply not predictable anywhere you have mentioned in terms of being above 7C consistently. Look at todays weather in Atlanta. It's currently -4C. Most people would happily assure you that you would never see -4C in Atlanta.
Nor is temperature the only weather factor. I would be just as concerned if not more so, about rain. In March/April you can pretty much count on rain in all those places you have considered.
Frankly, that time of year is simply not a time I would choose to visit most of W. Europe at all if weather matters. There are a lot of other places in the world with better weather.
So my question is why Europe? Why not go somewhere where you CAN expect good weather if that is important? This is after all a honeymoon trip. I can't imagine you want to be walking around wet and miserable.
