Honeymoon in Puglia, Italy
Hello,
We are planning our honeymoon in Puglia, Italy. We fly in and out of Bari and will have a car.
We are spending 8 nights in early June, split as below:
2 nights Matera (Haven't yet booked this hotel - any recommendations?)
2 nights just outside of Alberobello
4 nights in a farmhouse/resort/spa near Gallipoli.
With this being our honeymoon I am looking for recommendations along our route.
Any restaurants, typically Italian places, experiences or nice beaches that we shouldn't miss?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
Jessica

In Matera, you might consider the Locanda di San Martino:

In Matera, look at Il Sextantio, a cave hotel. We stayed in room 21, which is one of their largest and very romantic in a rustic way for a honeymoon. Unfortunately, I was there with my mother, not my husband. ;-) Matera is really special, and part of that are the caves, so why not stay in one?

One of my favorite meals was at a restaurant called Il Cortiletto in Speziale (it's on my blog too). The food felt modern and fresh but the location and setting were so typical of the area. In terms of other towns, I really enjoyed Lecce, Otranto, and Martina Franca.
