Honeymoon in Italy and France in February 2014

Jump to last reply

Hey guys I am really new to this community and I would like to start by thanking you all in advance for taking your time to read this and helping me out!

My fiancee and I are planning our honeymoon in Italy and France in February 2014 and we would like some suggestions if we need to add or remove anything from the list?
We will be planning this trip for approximately 25-30 days.

We want to start at Italy and then move on to France and finish at Paris....

This is what we have so far...

5 nights in Rome
6 nights in Tuscany area [I am thinking of making Florence the base and rent a car and explore the area)
4 nights in Venice
(?)nights in Cinque terre

My question here is would a daytrip from florence to cinque terre be sufficient or should we devote a couple of nights in cinque terre as well?(is it worth it?)

5 nights in Paris (day trip to verasilles)
5 nights in Nice (day trips to eze, vence and monaco)
2 Nights in Loire Valley(is it worth going there?? )

The order we would like to visit these would be

Rome>Venice>Tuscany>Nice>Loire Valley>Paris

We were considering Amalfi coast area as well but from what we read its not worth going there at this time of the year....

Is there anything we are missing that we need to add to the list or any particular alterations that we should make? Or is there any must see place that we can squeeze in in this time?We haven't made any reservations yet so there is plenty of room for alterations :)

Also can anyone suggest good accommodations (something unique or must stay ?) for these places,,,
As for the budget we don't want to spend too much but we don't mind spending a little bit more on the hotel if it significantly adds to the experience...

Both of us are in our Mid 20's and love food and prefer scenic places and views :)

Thanks in Advance,
Regards,
Xarom
