Honeymoon in Italy
Hi, I'm in the process of planning my honeymoon to Italy next October 2005. We already have the days on which we will be traveling but we are kind of undecided as to which cities should be the ones we should visit and how much time. We will be arriving October 11 and departing October 19. Originally we had thought on doing 2 days in Rome, 2 days in Florence and 1 day in Venice. We were told that the island of Capri was a must see, but is completely out of our way! Is it possible to fit Capri on our schedule? and are the cities mentioned above worth the time we are targeting to spend? Also, can we get some suggestions on romantic hotels on these cities?
THANKS!!

You have 7 days, not counting the day of departure. On the day of arrival, you have only a part day and will be VERY tired (no matter how tired you are, do NOT take a long nap after checking into your hotel...just take a shower, change clothes, and keep active or jetlag will be worse).
In seven days, you will not have time to hit all the places you are talking about. One day in Venice is not enough, and 2 days in Rome and Florence each is even skimping.
I suggest you give up the idea of trying to fit Capri into this trip.
As far as hotels, besides being "romantic" (to me, anything with a bed is romantic) what is your price range, and other specifics? That is, something large and 4-star, a B & B or just what?

7-8 days is enough to do two locations and get a general idea. Because it is your honeymoon, you should visit the most romantic - Venice - and one other; I suggest Florence or Rome. Do some research and let us know what your interests are. Once you have decided on the cities, use the search function on this forum and you can find suggestions of romantic hotels in the cities you want to visit. And, of course, we will be happy to answer questions.
