Homebase and Itinerary for 3 Weeks in Eastern or Southern France

Jump to last reply

My wife and I are taking our 3 kids (ages 4, 6, &7) to France for 3 weeks in July. My 6 and 7 year olds are in a french immersion school so we want to supplement their learning by spending time in France. We will fly into Frankfurt and rent a car there to drive into France.

Can anyone recommend a good town/village that would make for a nice base of operations? We will probably spend a lot of time in the immediate area of our base, but will make daytrips by car to other towns, city's or sights. So any thoughts on what would make for a great itinerary would be very appreciated.

Many thanks,

Trevor
