We have been in Edinburgh for a wedding this week, and a full report will follow when we get home. We had a great flat, many good meals, and a fantastic Inspector Rebus tour of Edinburgh with a police officer! All will become known in good time, but right now we do not know when or how we will get home! I assume some of the rest of you are in the same boat.
Be of good cheer!

I'm sure your airline will be appreciative if you tell them that you are under no time pressure to return to the US and give them your cellphone number to call when they can accommodate you. Then, go to the bus terminal, ask about destinations an hour or two away that would be interesting and go enjoy yourself.
Actuall, we run out of medication on Friday morning and don't have a cell phone anyway, but good advice.
Fortunately, we have friends in Sussex who could put us up indefinitely if medications weren't an issue, and we will go as far as Heathrow tomorrow as scheduled and see what is happening there.
I am sure you know best, but would it be impossible to take your Sussex friend up on the offer and then consult a local pharmacist or doc to give you some meds to tide you over?
You haven't got a mobile?
If only HM Bateman were still with us....
From conduct on the dancefloor to what you drink and what you drink it out of, weddings are all about the Clash of the Generations. I can see the nervous titters: "That's Uncle Acki. He's the one who hasn't got a mobile"
I speak as one about to abandon trying to persuade nephews landlines are there to phone people on.
The Rebus tour sounds great. We always cast an eye over the police station when we park in Gayfield Square and I would love to see more. Did you have a beetroot sandwich at The Ox?
I hope all is well at home for you.
