HOLLAND AND TULIPS
Im looking at the Vantage tour...IF I can still get a booking...but does anybody know of another tour that does Holland and the tulips. It does not have to involve a cruise. Thanks

A friend and I did a Trafalgar Tour which was the Best of Holland. We have also done Holland ourselves during the year of the Floriade, not on tour and just going to the various venues. Unfortunately, the weather dictates when the tulips bloom and on our tour, we were a bit late, but saw lots in the Keukenhoff garden. If you use AMS as a base, you can see lots of flowers and could probably book later, than a year in advance, and maybe get a better idea of the early v/s late blooming of the tulips. Ciao!!

Thanks Mercy. I"ll check out Trafalgar and see what they are offering. I know the weather makes the diff....but I'll probably aim for the middle of april.....then I can get on to Paris and home by mid may!!!

Leanna, On one of the trips we took the train to Paris, via a stop-over in Ghent. Globus also offers a Holland tour. I know that tours are not the usual fare here on Fodor's, but we, both my friend and I and my husband and I, usually do a mix on a trip--tour and then some on our own. I hope you find the trip you will enjoy. mhm

Mercy...I know that about tours and this bb....but I always do a tour and then like you try to add some days on my own etc.
I travel on my own and tours are usually an easy way to structure things and also to keep moving along!! Plus some of the places I go are just too difficult for an old lady on her own.....
But thats a good idea adding Ghent on while on the way to Paris!!
I called my TA and have her working on things...so hopefully she can put together some stuff. I did check out the Globus tour...but the Vantage itinery still sounds the best to me.

Polly.....checked out that Gate1 tour and thought it was fantastic...esp since we're planning on a return to Paris. But figured maybe for us...it was a bit too structured for Paris....I want to see other things this time. But I do think that is a snazzy tour. We booked Uniworld today...hope it all goes well!!! You too!!!!
