Trip Report Holiday in West of France, wouldn't come back home if we could

Jump to last reply

I came back from France this time and really plan to go back as soon as possible. Though the changing weather all over the country, I still enjoyed my trip with my friends.

We arrived in Bordeaux by plane on Thursday and our French friend drove us from the airport to a town named Montendre. We stayed at a place called "La Forêt" http://bit.ly/12snQsJ. I suppose it means the forest, because all around us was quite green.

We visited a place birds estuary on the first day, it was undescribable and breathetaking. We took a kind of tour around the place and we could observe them closely without disturbing. I really recommend this place to families who travel to West of France, the place offers also tours for kids. We then drove up to La Rochelle and enjoy tasty oysters. It was the first time I tried and it was very good and refrenshing. At the end of the day, we rent some bicycles from our holiday village to ride around the area, luckily people at the village gave us good itiniaries, because we wouldn't find such nice spots to stop by anyway.

On the second day we revisited la Rochelle, we stopped by its aquarium, one word, wow ! Then there was this ship called Hermione (like hermiony in Harry Potter), we visited la Rochelle tower, museum, and this enigmas castle. it was a kind of musketeers period. Well it was fun, maybe the first castle i discover and could have fun while taking a tour, kids would have liked it more than us, but even adults, we were, we still enjoyed it so much.

The last day we spent in Bordeaux, we stopped at wine museum, and walked through the city until we took the flight back. http://www.bordeaux-tourisme.com/pl/index.pl?langueSelected=uk

I miss France already. And really, three days trip is too short.
