Holiday Apartment - Hotel Silberhorn
Does anyone have experience with this apartment? I think it might be fairly new (last 5-10 years) and it is supposed to be right near the hotel.

Sorry Pepper...sort of hard to know there is a Silberhorn in Wengen when I'm not considering that town for lodging. But you are correct that I should have mentioned Lauterbrunnen. My mistake.
kja...I also looked at Chalet Horner, which is more centrally located, but we would have to change rooms after one night (our dates aren't available for all 5 nights), plus it's slightly more expensive and appears to be a good deal smaller. What are your thoughts about the location with that additional info. How long does it take to walk from the train station to the Hotel Staubbach at the other end of the village?

That was certainly our experience with the Chalet Horner, it was a serious squish (the Jungfrau flat was anyway).
Hotel Oberland has some fantastic looking apartments right next to the Chalet Horner and directly across the street from what is IMO the best restaurant in Lauterbrunnen (in the Hotel Oberland). They're more expensive than Chalet Horner though.
BTW - I think there is a Silberhorn in Grindelwald too, and possibly every other town in Switzerland

Silberhorn (Silver Peak) is a rather unknown and not really high (only 12000ft) mountain above Stechelberg and in front of Murren and Wengen. Only hotels etc. in this area are called Silberhorn. The Hotel Eigerblick at Grindelwald belongs to the same company as the Silberhorn at Wengen (Eigerblick-Silberhorn AG).
