History & historical fiction about Prague & Czech Republic?

Jump to last reply

I'm considering a trip to Prague & elsewhere in the C.R. I enjoy travel most when I've read quite a bit of history & historical fiction about a place before I go. I don't actually know much about Czech history.

Can anyone suggest favorite books about Czech history, or novels with a historical Czech setting? Are there particularly interesting periods & personalities that I might read up on? (For example, before I went to Ireland, I read lots about the 1916-1923 period of rebellion and about the intriguing people involved (Michael Collins, Padraig Pearse, etc.)).
