We want to hire a car from Seville to Granada for a couple of days to see white towns etc.

In the process of booking I am asked where I want to pick the car up from. In regards to Seville there are 5 options: airport, downtown, railway station, Mairena, Parking San Ajusta and VDA Mariano Terry. We will be staying at the Hotel Amadeus which is Farnesio, 6, Casco Antiguo. Given where we are staying which is the best location to pick up the car and be in the best spot to leave Sevilla?

In returning the car the choice is airport, downtown and railway station. We will be staying at Casa 1800 which is Benalua, 11 (Plaza Nueva), Albayzin. Given where we are staying which is the best/easiest location to drop off the car?

Should I book ahead for this or do you think we could just turn up (travelling early September). This seems to be the sort of thing a lot of people are doing so don't want to miss out. Any suggestions of sites to use for car booking?

I don't have an answer for you except that the airports won't be very convenient, but if nothing turns up here, you can always phone or email your hotels for their advice re rental car locations.

I would book ahead, try Auto Europe or Kemwel, brokers that will get you a car from the major companies.

Thanks kayd - will email the hotel as a last resort - thanks for the idea. Anyone else had previous experience doing this, who can answer my questions?

If you are going to be driving in and around these towns you will need really good maps in order to do so. I suggest you get them - and locate your hotels and the varoiuis pick up/drop off sites. Otherwise you'll be lost anyway.

Hi nytraveler - We will not be driving in Seville nor Granada, only out of Seville and into Granada, that is why I am asking where to do this so I limit our time in Seville and Granada. Will take maps or rent GPS.

we picked up a car at the train station in Sevilla and dropped it at the train station in Granada. We took taxis to/from both train stations from/to our hotels. hope this helps!
