We found the Hill of Crosses near Sauliai to be a very moving experience. You can't imagine how many crosses there are, of every conceivable size. It was a major symbol of Lithuanian resistance during the Soviet occupation. Many times it was leveled by the government and then rebuilt by the Lithuanians. For general information about Lithuania look for "Lithuania in your pocket", www.inyourpocket.com. The main cities of Vilnius and Lithuania have beautiful churches and many noteworthy museums.
