Hi!

I am looking for suggestions for where a young couple (26-year-olds) can spend a week in Croatia in July, besides Dubrovnik (my boyfriend has already been there). We are looking to do some hiking, swimming, eating good food, sightseeing and photography. We can't drive, so renting a car wouldn't work.

Also, I wonder if it would be feasible to go hiking in Croatia in the summer, considering it might be too hot. I can't handle heat very well. If not Croatia, could anyone suggest anywhere else to go for the things mentioned above, where it might be cooler?

Trogir should fit the bill. Split is easy to get to and you can then take a bus to Trogir.

And yes, it will be as hot as blazes. The whole region will likely be hot so you really can't get away from it.

Look at some past July temps at a weather site like wunderground. July will be hot, yes, but there is the wonderful clear Adriatic to jump into. However, there are over 1000 islands so you're going to have to narrow it down a bit. If you decide to brave it, come back and tell us how you will likely enter the country, then I'll be glad to make some suggestions.
Also, for additional suggestions, it would help to know--where are you coming from?

Croatia is perfect and you should consider Dubrovnik - Korcula - Hvar Island - Split route! Everything you are looking for and much more

Sorry for taking so long to reply, thank you for your answers!

I am now rethinking going there in July, since I can't really stand the heat. How about going for a week in September? Will it still be warm enough to enjoy swimming and sunbathing?

To be more specific: I am flying from either Stockholm (where I live) or London (where my boyfriend lives). If there is a Ryanair flight to any good Croatian location, we would be even happier.

And I wish to skip Dubrovnik considering my boyfriend has already been there.

Have heard great things about Split though.

September will be great--still warm enough to swim, but not sweltering. And even better, fewer crowds.
Even if you fly into Dubrovnik, you can immediately head out to an island. Same with Split. Just keep searching low cost carriers till you find something.
