We are taking a trip to Turkey with OAT in October. For about 4 days, we take a gullet along the coast, stopping periodically to take hikes.
I have heard from different sources that the hikes range from "not too bad" to "extremely hazardous"! Am trying to determin if regular hiking boots are warranted or whether we could get by with good sturdy walking shoes. Hate to pack heavy hiking boots just for a few days of hiking.
Would appreciate hearing of what others on this OAT have to say about the hikes and shoes that they used.
We are also taking a pre-trip to Syria. Think it has lots of walking amoung ruins over rough ground. Hiking boots may come in handy there too.
Thanks
