Highway vignettes:Austria/Switzerland

Jump to last reply

I hate it when work gets in the way of holiday planning but I'm behind the 8-ball now. I will need to buy Swiss/Austrian vignettes to get from Germany to Italy, but custom offices are open only during the week. I leave on saturday. It looks as if the process for buying the highway vignettes is loosey-goosey - any gas-station, convenience store, post office. I'm supposed to leave the highway, drive around, find a village, drop into any open store and hope someone sells them? I'm too late for the vignette by maiol option. Any help in figuring this out would be appreciated. Alternative: drive thru France - toll roads, I know, but it's pay as you and that is pretty easy - or I think it is. Am I wrong on that? Thanks.
