While planning for a trip to the Central- Eastern coast of Turkey from November 15 to 21, I googled for sea water temperatures to see if we could consider some beach time.
I was not hopeful but DW, a water sign will take the slimmest chance or treasure the minutest ray of sunshine to run to the sea.
I found that the sea water is 24.2 degrees C today (about 75 F) at Antalya, Turkey climbing to 25 as you approach Southern Cyprus and Israel. (Syrian coastal waters may be boiling and not suitable for swimming for a quite bit, I guess). Even the Western Mediterranean coast of Turkey reports 22-23 degrees Centigrade sea water.
I continued to check for other parts of the Mediterranean and discovered that the standard European vacation spots like Spain, Italy, France and the Eastern Adriatic have sea temperatures between 18 and 20. (64-68 F).
This may be a good time for spur of the moment beach holidays in Southern Turkey and Cyprus, as the weather also looks promising for the next two weeks.

Yes, I was quite surprised to see 24 degree current sea temperatures on the Turkish State Meteorological Service website:
http://www.meteor.gov.tr/en-US/marine-sea-surface-temperature.aspx
Have you checked out the average air temps? Water takes much longer to cool down than air does. Would he want to be lying on the beach if the temps are in the high 50s?
Air temperatures will be around 23-25 till November 23, according to the 14 day forecast.
Not sure how useful this is, but two weeks ago the Eastern Med was perfectly warm at 25c water temperature. No problem to swim at all. Air was around 25-27.
Even in chilly Cornwall, the sea temp is often warm enough to permit swimming without a wet suit in late august or September; in one year the air temperature was high enough for some members of the annhig family to go swimming at the end of October.
