We're thinking of getting tickets to see Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre in early July. I tried to find out if it has air conditioning, website says "cooling system." Does this mean AC in Britain? I don't want to be surprised to see fans as the "cooling system" if it's hot!

I was there a few years ago during the summer and I don't remember seeing fans, nor was it hot in the theater. I think you will be fine.

Now for a bit of unsolicited but very important advice: They sell really good ice cream at intermission.
LOL. This has made my day. If only we needed the AC here in London! I usually keep the windows open for a couple of weeks a year. Thats how much cooling we usually need.
You'll be fine. Not to worry.
Sorry but I have been in London a number of times when you definitely needed AC - as in the upper 80s or even 90 and humid. Granted it isn't the usual summer weather - but it can happen and it can last for days.
I would never consider a hotel without AC in the summer. (But then I can't sleep if the temp in the room is more than 70.)
