I am going to Helsinki next winter. I would like the names and info. telephone and fax, rates, facilities of any small downtown hotels, more like a garni hotel or pension with private bath and breakfast that you can recommend. Also I would like to make a sidetrip to St. Petersburg. Do you know the name of any tour that runs from Helsinki, I would prefer to fly but not with Areoflot and moderate priced hotels and restaurants in St. Petersburg. Any advice or info. would be appreciated

Hi,
I'll bet you'll get the best of information from Helsinki web-pages, www.hel.fi. Information on hotels you might find by searching something about "matkailu" or "hotellit" (that's travelling and hotels in Finnish). To St Petersburg you can get by buss or train.
It's worth the time to use internet, becouse nearly everything about Finland is nowadays there...
Have a nice trip, Helsinki really is worth visiting !
