Help with Trenitalia on line

I am trying to reserve tickets for a Eurostar train trip within 60 days of today. Managed to get all the way to "registration" which seems to be necessary to actually get to the "purchase" stage. Each time, I fill all the required info, the error of "ID already chosen" shows up no matter how many and varied the 6 alpha/numeric combo's I try. Anybody able to register successfully? Can you tell me what I may be doing wrong??Thanks.

I havent followed this issue for a while, but in the past non-EU users have never been able to make on-line Trenitalia purchases. I tried repeatedly before our trip and could never register either. You might try to do some searching on this site, I know there has been a great deal of past discussion about this issue. I think the conventional wisdom is that ES reservations are "seldom" needed so far in advance unless you are traveling on some extra busy day. Most often ES tickets (including 1st class) can be bought on arrival, either at a station, or as we did at an American Express office in Rome.

Thanks for the response. We have purchased ES tickets previously when we were in Florence from both AmEx office there and also from a Travel office there. This time however, we want to get to Venice from Florence the day after Easter and this is a huge holiday, many folks traveling. So I really don't want to wait till we arrive in Florence, five days before.

But, I may try my travel agent here who may be able to get these tickets for us. Thanks.

Take the easy way out-- go to budgeteuropetravel.com, get their 800 number and call them. Very helpful and knowledgeable. Sell tickets at face value, with a small S&H fee (about $15) to have all tickets mailed to you in advance. Good luck.
