Help with train/bus in Spain
We are done with all travel plans as far as hotels and flights.
Barcelona 8/29 until 9/3
9/3 and 9/4 Granada
9/5 Seville 4 nights
9/9 Travel to Cordoba for a day trip on to Madrid that evening.
9/9 to 9/13 Madrid with a day trip toToledo
Question Should we do Cordoba as a day trip from Seville instead of on the way to Madrid?
Is there a bus or is that out of the question?
I am reading about taking the bus from Madrid to Toledo for a day trip. That gives us more flexibility on when we should go. I am leaning towards that. What do you think?
Thanks again. We are reaching the time when we can buy the train tickets so I am asking this now.
You guys are always so helpful. I tell all of my friends about all of the wonderful info on this site which makes traveling independently so much easier.
Thanks again,
Debby

The bus ride Seville to Cordoba is with www.alsa.es and takes just short of two hours at best and the train journey could be 40 odd minutes. It is certainly feasible to break the train journey in Cordoba and see the 'sites' on the return Seville to Madrid. It's a long day if you are focused on the bus.

I am planning a similar trip. I have read all the advise about itineraries and I am organising my own; would it be advisable to comment here or would be better to start my own thread.
In my case budget is important and I would like your advise about bus companies that do Sevilla/Cordoba/Madrid. Thank you.
Ah! By the way, Dali's exhibition in Madrid is fantastic, I was there in May. Book in advance to avoid the long queues.

I'd definately do the trip to Cordoba en route from Sevilla to Madrid. Otherwise you have to backtrack to do as a daytrip from Sevilla. You can purchase deeply discounted train tickets for early/mid September from the renfe website.
I'd also consider taking the train versus the bus from Madrid to Toledo. It's quicker and the train station in Toledo is an attraction itself.
