Help with Romantic Road/Munich Itinerary

Jump to last reply

My husband and I are headed to Germany in Late May '13.

We will be flying into Frankfurt and out of Munich. We are planning to spend 4 days along the Romantic Road and 6 full days in Munich. (there will be a travel day in the beginning and at the end that I'm not counting). I wanted to see if it was a good idea to split the trip this way or do another day in Munich?? We're excited to explore Munich and also use it as a home base for a few day trips.

Does anyone have a suggested itinerary for the 4 days on the Romantic Road? Ideally I would like to spend a couple nights in 2 locations along the road if there are enough activities. (so far I'm really liking Hotel Herrnschloesschen in Rothenberg obder Tauber).

Is a day trip to Salzburg from Munich worth it? The Eagle's Nest?

I appreciate any feedback you have!
