Help with Honeymoon in Italy Itinerary and Hotel Selection

I'm going to Italy in June for my honeymoon and finally decided on an itinerary. I'll be going from May 31st - Until June 17th.

I need help making sure this Itinerary is good, and also some hotel recommendations in each area.

I'd rather save the more expensive hotels for the Amalfi Coast area. While in Florence, I might go over to Cinqe Terre if time allows.

Fly from Detroit to Venice on Thursday, May 31st....

Friday, June 1st, Venice
Saturday - Venice
Sunday - Venice
Monday Morning - Leave for Florence
Tuesday - Florence
Wednesday - Florence
Thursday - Leave for Amalfi
Friday - Amalfi
Saturday - Amalfi
Sunday - Amalfi
Monday - Amafi
Tuesday - Amalfi
Wednesday - Leave for Rome
Thursday - Rome
Friday - Rome
Saturday - Rome
Sunday - Fly Home

No one except you can know what your price range is, or what you consider to be an "expensive" hotel. When you give your price range, it might be easier to give this in euro,as that is how the hotels will list their rates.

You will not have time to visit the CT, as you have only 2+ days in Florence.

Since you are leaving next month, you may find yourself limited as far as available good-value hotels, so I would get busy sooner rather than later on booking. You may find that a lot of the hotels that will be suggested (once you give price guidelines) are already booked. But you will find something! You also need to make your train reservations, as I assume that you will not be driving.

The default choice for upscale expensive honeymoon luxury in Amalfi is the Santa Caterina.
they often offer good value in the shoulder season. There are quite a lot of other hotels mentioned on previous threads and you can find the discussions with a search here for Amalfi hotels. I assume that you mean hotels in the town of Amalfi, not the Amalfi Coast (??)

Nice trip---you will have fun.
You do need to clarify the prices range and what you mean by " Amalfi". For a honeymoon, I suggest Positano as your primary base, but also consider having 2 locations on the coast since Sorrento is much easier to access Pompeii.

I'd rather spend more money in the Amalfi area rather then Venice, Rome, Florence. As I will use my Amalfi time for our "true honeymoon" time.

I thought about using Sorrento as a home base.

As far as prices, $200-$300 Euro for all cities except Amalfi, I'm willing to go higher.

BJ: I like the town of Amalfi much better than Positano. If you do decide to stay in Amalfi, check out the Santa Caterina, the Luna Convento, and the new NH Convento, for starters. And the Belvedere is lovely if a bit out of the town; on the bus route and perhaps offering a shuttle to town.

If you want to explore other options in the luxury category, you can check out a few properties in Ravello, in the hills above the coast. For instance, you might want to consider a non-sea-view room here; they offer a shuttle to their private beach club which is quite divine:

There are many threads here with ideas for hotels in the cities on your list, so I will not bother to list them.
