Will be at Lake Bled, Slovenia. Want to rent a car for a few days and drop it in Rijeka, Croatia. Not having any luck finding a company willing to allow this. Trying to avoid an early, early, early train from Bled to pick up in Croatia. Thanks so much for any help!

If you find a company, the cost will be extortionate. There are 3 trains daily from Ljubljana to Rijeka.

I don't know of aq company that allows that. But if there is one, LittleVicky is right -- the surcharge will be GINORMOUS . . . .

I saw that if you pickup and drop off in Bled and 3 day rental is $250.00. If anyone can do a bled to rijeka they can.

Here are the details: Pick up in Bled on Tuesday, 16 September, 10:00 hours. Drop off in Rijeka on Friday, 19 September, 18:00 hours. Cost for 3.5 days including international one-way drop fee is $316.

Steep but not prohibitively so. And it means we don't have to rise before dawn to catch the 05:21 train from Bled, in order to catch the 06:20 from Ljubljana, in order to arrive Rijeka before late afternoon, because from Rijeka we intend to drive on to overnight several nights in Rovinj. Later trains from Bled arrive Rijeka 16:28 and 17:25, and the train arriving 16:28 is a 9-hour journey because of connecting through Zagreb.

We're dropping the car early evening in Rijeka in order to catch the Friday night ferry down the coast. I love overnight ferries.
