Help with Canoe and Bike Ride

Hi All: So we're finally getting to the stage of making bookings so we;re very excited. In this regard we were hoping to take on 2 issues: canoe ride and bike ride.

A. CANOE RIDE: We have 2 options for a 4-5 hr canoe ride (including stops):

1. St Julien de Lampon to Vitrac

2. Vitrac to just after Beynac.

From my readings i mostly read about trip (2) and of course it hits all the lovely riveredge town. that said i'm thinking it's also quite crowded. Secondly, we are also going to separately bike (another day) from St Julien de Lampon-Carsac-Vitrac-Domme-La Roque and then hopefully back again same day. So both the canoe rides do overlap a bit with the bike ride. So my questions were: (a) i'm assuming that the views from a bike ride have to be a different experience from the canoe ride right? (b) which of the 2 canoe rides would travellers recommend? I did read separately that it is possible to beach the canoe and walk into La Roque, or stop at beaches. But we were warned by the canoe company that we are still responsible for the canoe even if we leave it and walk away. and I'm not sure how to lock it to protect it? So i'm not sure we can do much more than stop at beaches. Would travellers agree with this?

B. ADDITIONAL BIKE RIDE: So we seem set with the bike ride listed above. But for day 2 we are looking for another fun bike ride. We did find a route on LP Cycling France that loops Tremolat-Cadouin-Limueil-Tremolat. Does anyone have experience with this bike route and whether it's feasible to do in a day? I realize we will probably walk up the hill to Limueil and that's fine as far as i can see. Secondly, however, we dont have a bike rack to our car. We are based near Sarlat, so I'm trying to figure if there are reasonably priced rental options in or near any of these towns/villages - Tremolat, Cadouin, Limeuil. Would anyone have any suggestions?
