help with benelux france itnerary

Me and my lady will have seven days on the ground in Europe. We thought Belgium, Normandy, and Paris was a good trip. This will be our first time going over seas and I am 27 and she is 23.Age and money are not a huge concern.

The itenerary looks something like this.

Land sunday morning in Brussels[after rest on plane hopefully,if not tons of chocalate to eat in Belgium] head straight to Waterloo too "waste" our lag day.We cant check in till 2 anyway.

Monday-Full day of Brussels

Tuesday-Head to Brugge AM spend half the day there.Train to Bayeux at 2 pm.Get there ,eat check in sleep.

Weds-Battle bus American tour of all beaches all day long.

Thursday-
Here's where I need help.We kinda wanted to see Mount St. Michel on Thursday as a day trip from Bayeux. Now we could rent a car the night before to have it first thing in the morning and drive to MSM ourselves, returning the car later that day to Bayeux in time for the train for Paris.
This will give us basicly from 9-10 am till 3-4 pm at MSM.IS the MSM leg of the trip worth it?We really want to sleep in Paris Thursday night so we can hit the streets early AM Friday, but I want to know what you all think as I am a newbie to travel in Europe.

Any Input would be wonderful , thanx in advance!

My dear Max,

>Age and money are not a huge concern.

I'm glad to hear that. At your age money was a huge concern. Now that I have some money, age is a huge concern.

You have only 7 days.

Do you wish to spend them on trains and buses or do you wish to actually enjoy your visit?

Paris, by itself, is worth 7 days.

You could spend 7 days in the Benelux region.

You could combine Normandy with Paris in a 10-day visit.

My suggestion is to fly in/out of Paris and spend your time there.

Hi Max,

Your first and last days lose at least 1/2 day. -1 day

Each time you change hotels you lose at least 1/2 day. -2 days

Your 7 day trip is only a 4 day trip.

First time to Europe and only 2 days in Paris, less travel time?

I repeat, fly in/out of Paris and spend your time there.

The rest of Europe will still be there for other visits.

Hi M,

You have to check in/out of hotels, get to train stations and then travel.

Same if you go by car.

For train schedules, see

For motor routes see www.mappy.com and www.viamichelin.com
