help with apartments in Vienna and Salzburg xmas and new years

Family of 5, need help finding a nice place in central area's. Anywhere between 200-300 a night.

Just starting to research this trip but its gonna start in Zurich to Munich than to Austria, ending up in a ski area to be determined and than back to Zurich. So 3 nights Munich, 3 Vienna, 3 saltsburg and 5 in the ski area. And I will have a car. Kids are all teenagers.

As I research some more I would have a better idea as to what area's I want to stay, but you guys always help.So I am listing.

Thanks

I would try vrbo.com I have found places through it. I think you will have no trouble with 3 nights in the cities, if you are planning on spending the actual Christmas-New Year week holidays skiing, you may find rental places will require 7-10 nights minimum (many hotels do that is the very highest season). Just try to site and see what you can find. December is traditionally the coldest month for skiing so bundle up, and sometimes there is the least snow it will be a crapshoot depending on how cold and snowy early December has turned out to be. I would say ski in Austria given your itinerary plus you will find it cheaper than Switzerland. Try St Anton as it has a good apres ski life for teenagers.

Why are you going to Munich, not a whole lot to see or do esp IMO for 3 days. Unless you have relatives. I personally would spend the time in Zurich rather than Munich, or try two different ski areas one in Austria and one in Switzerland. Could do Davos and Klosters on the way back from Austria, excellent skiing.

We used http://www.vacation-apartments.com to help find the apartment that we stayed at while in Berchtesgaden (near Salzburg) for a week last year.

Another good place to look for apartments is to simply go to both the Salzburg and Vienna tourism websites and click on "accommodations." I know that the Salzburg website has quite a few nice apartments to choose from.

Why 3 days in Munich , cant answer that yet since I am in early planning stages. I figured I would fly into Zurich and head for Munich, stay there a couple of days, than head to Vienna, than salzburg, than probably Ischgl. St Anton has horrible begineer slopes so it will be bad for my kids to learn to snow board. But I will hit the slopes around Jan 1 - 5th and than back to zurich for 2 days. Ischgl has plenty of snow at that time also. And I love the lift systems in Austria. Davos at 13 dollars for a big mac it will break me. That is the most expensive place to eat dinner, makes Vail look cheap.

I guess a few days in each city to enjoy the xmas atmosphere. But I can be talked out of Munich I have been there a few times already.
