Help with 10 European countries & temperatures! Thanks!
I'm going to a bunch of European countries this summer through a Semester At Sea program...but wow! I'm going crazy trying to pack for all of these different climates...can anyone help with really how cold some of these countries are such as Iceland and Norway or recommendations?
Here are the dates and places:
Reykjavik, Iceland June 23-June 26
Bergen & Oslo, Norway June 29-July 2
St. Petersburg & Moscow, Russia July 6-July 10
Gdansk, Poland July 13-July 16
Antwerp, Belgium//side trip to Amsterdam and maybe Bruges July 20-July 23
London, England-July 25-July 29
Dublin, Ireland July 31-August 3
Bilbao & sidetrip to Barcelona August 6-August 10

It won't likely be THAT cold, more like chilly at night sometimes. I always bring a sweater and light jacket to layer if need be over my shirt so I can face varying temps. You can safely leave the hat, scarf and gloves at home. Though if some freak weather condition occurs and it freezes, you can always buy those items there.

There are weather websites (just 'google') where you can see historic temperatures. So you can get a general idea judging from the past few years, for your same months of travel, what the weather was in these different locations.

What a fabulous trip.
Actually you don't have that many different climates since they are all in northern Europe except for Spain.
There can be heat waves in places like Moscos or London but in general all the countries listed will be fairly similar temps in summer. So don't worry too much. Just take light clothes you can layer if it gets cool/cold and at night.
It will probably be hot in Barcelona - so just wear the same things "un layered"

When thinking of layers, I highly recommend silk insulated underwear. I'm accustomed to 100 degree plus temperatures, so I'm often cold when it is 50 degrees outside! The silk breathes well and takes little space in yourluggage.

Iceland will be the coldest but not freezing (it will be daylight most of the time, lucky you!!). It could also be hot in Moscow. Norway and Poland will be similiar to the UK Ireland and Belguim.
Make sure you bring a waterproof coat and a few sweaters. It will keep out the wind and the rain which you could experience in lots of the northern countries.
Have a wonderful trip and check out
