HELP! Which Italian carrier sim card can be used for an Ipad?

Anybody in Italy knows which carrier provides the data service for an Ipad ? Or does it even matter?
I heard that in Germany one can simply buy a vodafone prepaid sim card and cut it to fit the Ipad micro sim card hole.

Nobody has tried using a European prepaid sim card on their Ipad yet? Any info would be appreciated.
I'm trying to avoid using the expensive ATT international plan on my upcoming trip.

I just found the answer on an italian website that may come handy for other iPad users:
http://www.ipader.it/5275/tariffa-da...-mondiale.html

In summary, there are two companies that provide service for Ipad in Italy: vodafone and italy3
"Vodafone" charges 2 euro per day for a maximum of 500 MB or 30 euro for a month of unlimited MB.
"Italy 3" charges 5 euro per month for a maximum of 3000 MB.
The remaining question is which company provides the best coverage in Tuscany/ Umbria?
I hope somebody in Italy can help.

I found some good info on the Apple Ipad forum. I think I'll look into both options when I'm there.

It seems that the Tre Italy is favored by many travelers for it's reasonable rate:
