help thought that I was going to Italy

Yikes, at the last minute my trip to Rome and Milan has become Paris and Arles. I have a hotel in Montparnasse... Good or bad????
I will be arriving at CDG and need transportation to my hotel. train???
thenI need to go by train from Paris to Arles.
Usually I have time to research but since I am flying out in 2 days, I hope that you can help me with my research.
Thanks!

Check out this website for directions from the airport to Montparnasse

http://www7.ratp.info/informer/anglais/index.php

You will know what time you're arriving, and which terminal in order to be able to enter the correct information.

As for Arles, I take it you're going to the city on the coast in the south of France. Check out http://www.raileurope.com/us/rail/fa...ules/index.htm for schedules and fares.

If you are traveling light, you could take the RER to Denfert Rochereau and there take the métro to Montparnasse. The RER ticket purchased in the CDG station allows you to use the métro.

Check the TGV trains... some of them stop in Arles during the summer months (Gare de Lyon - Avignon - Arles - Miramas)

Just checked my schedule and there's one leaving Paris at 6:50 AM - arrives in Arles at 10:46 AM
Another leaves at 5:53 PM - gets to Arles at 9:47 PM
one at 6:34 PM - gets to Arles at 10:30PM

There may be others - I only have an abbreviated schedule here at the house.

to Jules4je7... Arles isn't on the coast.

I never knew that some TGVs make stops in Arles, I thought a change in Avignon to a local train would be required. Good information.

julienas...

They've had this service to Arles for the past couple of summers - it usually is only from May to the beginning of September.
I don't know if they'll ever do it year round, but I wish they would. It would be easier for me when I go up to Paris, since I live closer to Arles than Avignon.

Patricia -- where is Arles? I googled Arles France and it gave me a city on a map in the South of France near the coast.

Now I'm just curious!

How in the world does such a trip-plan switch happen!!?

What is your Paris hotel? Montparnasse can be a great area but the term covers a lot of territory, parts in the 6th, 14th and 15th arrondissements.
